16th Annual Village Crawfish Festival
Thanks to the sponsors, musicians and festival goers we raised $35,000 for reStart Inc. And ate a whole lot of crawfish doing it!

The 16th Annual Village Crawfish Festival will benefit reStart, Inc., and be held Saturday, May 13, 2017 (6:00pm-11:00pm) at St Pius X Church, 5500 Woodson (55th and Woodson, 2 blocks west of Nall St) Mission, KS (map). Signs will be prominently displayed indicating area for convenient parking.
reStart, Inc. has served as a safety net and portal to a better life for tens of thousands of homeless individuals and families. It is a tax exempt non-profit organization with a proven history of providing a compassionate and effective response to ending homelessness.
reStart, founded by a Methodist minister with support from an interfaith group of clergy and lay people, began providing emergency shelter in 1981 at Grand Avenue Temple United Methodist Church in downtown Kansas City, MO and was incorporated as a non-profit in 1984. reStart’s mission is to provide shelter and supportive services to move homeless youth, families, women and men toward self-sufficiency with the goal of ending homelessness in our community. Over its 33 years of service, reStart has evolved from an emergency shelter for adult men and women into a community leader advocating for and modeling best practices for permanently ending homelessness for all populations.
The purpose and longtime ability to successfully serve homeless children, youth, adults and families who are chronically homeless, formerly homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless solidly aligns with SOC’s charitable objectives. Visit them online.
